OK, so as many of you may already know this month is going to be pretty epic in the house of Jamison. If I was to break it down in band terms we will be “moving from a two piece to a three piece”. For those of you who are not hip to the band lingo let me put it more plainly. My wife (Melissa) and I will be welcoming a little child into our lives sometime in the next month and a half. That’s right people… crazy huh? I mean we are both really excited, but this is a big deal. As you might think, this means that a lot of things are going to be changing. The most immediate of those changes is that I will be off the road for the month of July in hopes to catch the birth of our child. Tenth Avenue North will continue on. I know what you might be thinking… how does a band survive without the drummer? I mean a human cannot survive with out his backbone, right? Well, your exactly right. This is why I have to write this blog. This is why I need to introduce to you Ian Jones. A long time friend. He will be Tenth Ave’s temporary back bone. Let’s see, he is shorter than I am, wears skinnier jeans than I do, has more facial hair than I do, but he can play a pretty mean beat on the old trap set and he loves Jesus. So people, treat him well and love on him as you do I. I promise he’ll do just fine.

OK, so I have recently heard of something that quite possible change my life forever. Now I must warn you the common response to what I am about to tell you is sarcasm and skepticism, but I feel that I must take the chance. With that said. Water. That’s it. Two Hydrogen molecules and one Oxygen molecule. The potential that lies within this substance is amazing. Think if we could only separate the molecules and take the hydrogen and use it for power. Seems to make sense to me if we could do it - right. I mean water is all over the place. Even in the dessert with a little help from my survival handbook we can find water.

All this to say, I heard about a water powered car the other day. In fact you can also buy kits to make a water powered hybrid. I am not sure if it works but I am pretty convinced. My brother is going to experiment with his lawn mower, so if he gets it working I’ll let you know. In the mean time go to you tube and search “water torch.” I am warning you, you might spend hours researching. Just think about the possibilities. No more high gas prices, just fill up with your hose. No more destroying the ozone, just mist as byproduct. No more running out of gas, just wait for it to rain. The possibilities are endless.

So I don’t call myself… wait let me rephrase that. So I can’t call myself an avid reader. I have probably read a total of 3.5 books since I graduated college, which I shamefully tell you was 5 years ago. So you are probably wondering, what on earth did I choose to read? Now I must warn you, by telling you this you might think less of me, but I am not ashamed. #1. “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers. #2. “Arctic Harpooner” by Robert Ferguson. #3. “Harpooner” by Robert Ferguson. #.5) “Baby Wise” by I dunno. Currently I am trying to finish “Black” by Ted Dekker, but I have a feeling it needs to be put on pause. Why, you ask? Well I have two reasons - one, “Hypnobirthing” and two, “Outdoor Survival Skills”. You see, my wife is currently pregnant with our first and this book “Hypnobirthing” is a must read for natural childbirth. Now the second book has caught me off guard. It recently was my birthday and we had the opportunity to celebrate by a tradition that we call gift giving. This book “Outdoor Survival Skills” was given to me by Scott our bass player. I didn’t know what to do with myself. Within the first ten minutes I learned how to build shelter in the snow, how to build a bed that stays warm by fire rocks, how to trap birds for food, and how to start a fire with my own bare hands. Now that’s a book. I mean come on - survival. It is a necessity. And Now I Can Survive On The Land. Drop me off in the wilderness with me and my book - I guarantee survival at it’s finest.

So, this is me. You may not know, but I have famous people in my blood… well not literally in my blood, but you know what I mean. Like, my Great Grandfather Addis invented the pop top to tell you that baby food is fresh. And my other Great Great Grandfather was a whaler who had his journals published. then I married melissa, who also has famous people in her blood. She has an ancestor named Rambo, He grew apples and ended up calling his apples, “Rambo.” Then later on, somebody needed a name for an amazing movie at which time he was drinking apple cider from “Rambo” apples. One thing led to another and we now have a pretty amazing action flick named after a pretty amazing apple.
